THE Sugarbird surprised his audience with a big bang again on the closing day of the Budapest Central European Fashion Week

A Sugarbird ismét nagy durranással lepte meg közönségét a Budapest Central European Fashion Week zárónapján

For fashion lovers, the coveted fashion week is clearly the most anticipated event of every semester. The Budapest Central European Fashion Week was held in the capital between August 26th and September 1st, with the Sugarbird also presented one of the main collections of SS25. The show held plenty of surprises, as we learned that the long-awaited collection will debut not only with clothes, but also with its own porcelain collection. The presentation was closed by Panka Gesztesi, with a mysterious message that raised questions.

It is not surprising that the Sugarbird surprised its audience with a big bang again on the closing day of the Budapest Central European Fashion Week. The Sugarbird Porcelain collection, literally a collection supplemented with porcelain. The presentation was surrounded by huge interest, among the guests were Antónia Erős, Claudia Liptai, Szabina Tápai, Lara Schobert and Dorottya Németh. We got a closing chord that could almost be called classic at the end of the show, as the iconic Queen coats could not be left out this time either. Of course, a screw was added to the machine, and now the oversized styles were reborn in a clean white color, with gold lettering on the back.

“The entire collection was completed in a month. We complicated our own lives, and not a little, because we had been planning to launch our own porcelain collection on the market for a very long time, which, let's face it, is a long and complicated process. Working on porcelain is a very complex job, it took a lot of energy from Adrienn Horváth-Gazsó and Virág Kis, with whom I was at an artist camp in Újkígyós when I received the news that we were going to Fashion Week. We immediately got down to work. We made our previous porcelain-inspired (Zsolnay) clothing collections by photographing the porcelain itself and using its creative. Now in our case we decided differently, we are first working with the drawing in vector form. We didn't have the opportunity to do this before, because the vector patterns were never colored. The whole process is very exciting now.

Of course, the entire Porcelain collection is about unique patterns, as Adrienn's imagination is reflected in the drawings. What is special is that the original sugarbird, native to Africa, finally appears on our patterns. I would add that when the brand was launched in 2007, we did not know that a sugarbird actually existed somewhere in the world, but we absolutely love the connection since then. It is a very beautiful bird, which we have now included in the collection. To the great happiness of my colleague Miss KK, the Sugarbird The bird finally opens its wings.

It is exciting that Ádám Baranyi designed a lot of porcelain accessories, which the ceramist Kis Virág will also make for us. The buttons, the key rings are all real porcelain on the clothes that the guests could see at the Fashion Week show. We are really looking forward to seeing such a collection in the spring. Sugarbird The collection is also enhanced by porcelain everyday items that we can actually use in everyday life. For example, a large pasta plate, an American coffee-sized mug or a muesli bowl. We don't necessarily want to go with just a classic set.

We brought back a summer vibe at the show, inspired by the old 70s, thanks to the colors and graphics. We loved it.” - said Jagasics v. Csonka Hedvig, the Sugarbird founder and owner.

The Porcelain collection was created in collaboration with artists, with the addition of Adrienn Horváth-Gazsó and Virág Kis.

"Hedvig shared with me one of her dreams, perhaps more than a year ago, about how much she would like to have her own design someday." Sugarbird a porcelain collection with clothes and porcelain objects...and if Hédi dreams, it will surely become a reality sooner or later, the wonders of which she will share with the audience for the joy of all of us. I thought in three guises: my idea was given a burgundy-pink hue, which Sugarbird Our first collaboration with the brand was a peony painting. I transformed this flower into a motif system. The second design was a monochrome, rewritten and stylized representation of traditional gentleman's embroidery, playing with shades of blue and green. Finally, my third design was based on the real African sugarbird and the colorful African flowers in its environment. Of course, I imagined all of this on porcelain objects/shapes, with a gold outline. I had no doubt that designer Ádám Baranyi and graphic designer Miss KK would once again add that decisive plus to the realization of dreams, thanks to which the collection would come to life. All the clothes reflected the delicacy, fragility, femininity of porcelain, all of these Sugarbird with its characteristic freshness and unique design solutions. The porcelain sugar bird has spread its wings.” – we learned from Adrienn Horváth-Gazsó, the head of the Újkígyós Art Farm.

The special ceramic was created by ceramic artist Kis Virág Sugarbird porcelain objects, with whom Adrienn Horváth-Gazsó created the final appearance of the images.

"I basically create alone, but to compensate for this I occasionally teach and go to Adrienn's creative camp. It was way out of my comfort zone, but it was also an honor to see how Sugarbird He put us on a pedestal during the show. I tried to live every moment of it, to look into the eyes of the audience, where I received many appreciative looks. I was surprised at how well I managed to stand my ground in an otherwise foreign environment and world.

The creative process was not unfamiliar with tight deadlines and campaign-like work. It was more about the tension due to the valuable nature of the raw materials. Gold, porcelain, quality paints... these days it is not really typical for anyone to work with such expensive materials that represent value in the long term. Unfortunately, there are few people who are skilled at it. There are even fewer companies that invest in it. I tried to treat these raw materials with the greatest possible dignity, so that no waste is generated and every last gram of it becomes a beautiful, wearable, usable thing.” – said ceramic artist Kis Virág.

Panka Gesztesi closed the presentation, with the words “TO BE CONTINUED 09.23” written on the back, which we excitedly asked Jagasics v. Hedvig Csonka about.

"At the end of the presentation, we actually hid a date, which I'm going to give a little spoiler about. We're going to have a very exciting collaboration with the Gerbeaud team, and we're also going to open our newest brand store there on the Gerbeaud house site. Keep an eye on our platforms, because everything will be revealed soon." – Jagasics v. Hedvig Csonka
