The international fashion world is certainly experiencing one of its most exciting times at this time, as fashion weeks have already begun in full swing. Paris, Budapest, New York, Milan, but we could also list the capitals where fashion events clearly play the main role in the months of January and February. The biggest brands present their seasonal collections, and of course Sugarbird cannot be left out. This time, the Hungarian fashion company announced an independent online fashion show. So in February, the veil fell on the latest Sugarbird collection, which is csángó goes back to folk costumes.
Let's just remember how popular the reception was when the Sugarbird design team first worked on the Hungarian matyó pattern. Since then, we have been delighted to see the fashion company's artistic approach to Kalocsa Richelieu, Transylvanian Kalotaszeg, and traditional blue-painted patterns. Will they have an authentic surprise in store this year too? We asked Hedvig Jagasics v. Csonka, the founder and owner of Sugarbird, who has never hidden that one of her main missions is to bring Hungarian into fashion.
"The Kalotaszeg folk costume was the first one we processed from Transylvania, but we already knew that the csángóWe would also like to take a thorough tour of our own collection. Újkígyós is a very important stop in my life full of inspiration and creativity. For me and for my colleagues for quite some time now, it is an artistic place where we really get the inspiration we need for our work. We are surrounded by a lot of creative people there, including Imre Harangozó, who in my opinion is one of the most outstanding ethnographers in the country. He created a brilliant museum in Újkígyós, where he exhibited his own collection, which he has managed to accumulate and continues to accumulate over the years. When we first visited him with the Sugarbird team to guide us into the beautiful world of Transylvanian folk costumes, he showed us exactly how many types of folk costumes we are talking about. The csángó It immediately captivated us and had a huge impact on us as designers. The wonderful patterns, colors and materials all hide excitement and tradition, which we naturally brought into the Sugarbird style. Csángó "We were really looking forward to the fashion show, where the collection, which is the result of several months, we can say several years of work, could finally debut." – Jagasics v. Csonka Hedvig introduced us.
To imagine how such a little-mentioned folk costume like the csángó, is promising in itself. We will get the latest shapes of 2024 from the designers, but finally the csángó authentic motifs as well. The biggest news, however, is that this time we don't have to wait long months to get our hands on the Sugarbird Csángó exciting pieces from the collection, as the collection arrives in early March.
